Bungay Litter Pick (New Date:12th Nov)
Outney Common
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join us to pick litter along the Outney Common riverside footpath The River Waveney Trust is taking part in a project - Preventing Plastic Pollution - looking at how plastic finds its way into rivers and eventually out into oceans. Help us to collect litter near and in the River Waveney, identify litter hotspots and look at ways we can tackle plastic pollution locallly, whilst gathering data that contributes to a better global understanding.  We've got plenty of litter pickers, bags, bag hoops and gloves so no extra equipment needed. We would love you to join us, it's a perfect opportunity to get outside, stretch your legs, chat with a friendly bunch of people, and there will be cake at the end! Those on foot will meet at 10am in the public car park at Outney Common (what3words unlisted.roof.perusing) Those in kayaks, canoes or on paddle boards will meet at 9.45 at Falcon meadow (what3words harmlessly.points.camp) If you intend to take part on the water please ensure you have suitable clothing for the weather conditions and a buoyancy aid. Staff from the River Waveney Trust will be at both locations to meet you, the two groups will be heading the same direction along the river so should hopefully meet along the way. It's a 3 mile route so we anticipate the walk will take approximately 1hr 30min, then at the end we will gather to record data on what we have collected and to eat cake and have hot drink. Everyone welcome Please select a FREE ticket so I know how many to expect, thanks See you there Ange

When we picture an idyllic river we probably imagine it teeming with life - plants, insects, fish, and mamals, with places to play and beautiful open views across the countryside. As you imagine this perfect river, does it have wood in it? Is it a little wild and overgrown, or is it a neat and tidy river? Join Katie (Projcet Officer for River Waveney Trust), she will challenge us to rethink our opinions on wood in rivers and help us to understand its impact.
