Monday 25th March will be our next Beccles Group "natter and noggin" session.  An important reminder that we will be at our new venue - The Fox and Hounds Social Club (former British Legion Club) in Ravensmere, Beccles (roughly opposite the fire station). Plenty to discuss with next phase of Gledestion Lock Chamber repair starting in May and with work to commence repair of Dunburgh Steps now funded. Hope to see you there.  New members welcome.

A reminder.....  This Saturday - as part of a series of talks arranged by the Friends of Beccles Library -  Bernard Watson who is the RWT's project manager for the restoration work on the lock chamber at Geldeston, will give an illustrated talk on the history of the ill-fated navigation from Great Yarmouth to Kings Lynn.  This involved building of several locks including the famous Geldeston Lock.  You will have the opportunity to hear the latest on the RWT's restoration work on the Geldeston Lock Chamner as well as a chance to view (and purchase!) the beautiful hand turned bowls made by RWT volunteer Tim Bacon from the tree roots removed from the lock chamber walls. Tickets £3.   Refreshments available.

We had planned to run a working party at Falcon Meadow on Sunday 10th March, but it seems the general maintenance work for this month, as far as possible, has been covered and so our working party is being changed slightly.   Instead, I'd like to invite anyone interested in becoming involved with The Bungay, River Waveney Trust Group to meet up for  a cuppa and a flapjack. We will be at The Bungay Town Council Chambers, 1a Broad Street, NR35 1EE from 9.30am to 10 45 Sunday 10th March to discuss ways of enhancing bio diversity and access along the Waveney. We need volunteers and suggestions to help move this forward. Apologies as I have had to find a room at the last minute and access for wheel chair users or those with limited mobility may be difficult. There will be the opportunity to discuss what other work needs to be done, along the Bungay stretch of the River Waveney.
