Bat Walk from Geldeston Lock/Susan Ellis Wood
The Locks, Geldeston
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Bat Walk: As evening falls, join us and bat expert Abi Grey in the RWT owned "Susan Ellis Wood" beside the River Waveney at Geldeston Lock. We'll walk around the wood and along the river using high-tech bat detectors, to find, track and identify the bats, learning about their lives as we go.
Meet at 19.00 alongside the old lock chamber in the Locks Inn pub garden for an introductory talk (30 min) and a walk around the wood and along the river with bat detectors (45 mins to 1 hr).
Note the event is weather dependant - we can't do a walk if its raining or very windy as the bats won't be flying. Keep an eye on your email inbox for any last minute cancellation.
Directions and Parking If using SatNav NR34 0HS. To avoid congestion in the pub carpark, please park on Locks Lane in the large BA carpark before the barrier and walk the last hundred yards or so.
Bring a torch and warm clothes! No dogs please.
Booking essential, limited spaces. Please request a "free ticket" to confirm your attendance. Actual cost is £5 - proceeds to be split between RWT and Norwich Bat Group - pay on the night. Booking closes 31st Aug.
