For our next Beccles "natter and noggin" we are back to our usual timing - the last Monday of the month. We are a friendly group.  As always, all are welcome especially any new memers or first timers. Do come and join us.

'Thankyou to the members who expressed a preference for a day of the week for our Bungay group meeting - Monday seems to be the winner. I propose that we have meetings on the third Monday of the months we meet in. The next meeting is therefore called for Monday, September 17th at 7 o'clock, taking up Ben Potterton's offer of giving us the Education Room at Earsham Wetland Centre. Bank Holiday Fun Day   Date: 27 August 2018  Location: Recreation Ground, Wilderness Lane Part of the Harleston and Waveney Festival. An extra special event this year with the emphasis on children and families. Classic cars will lead a parade through the town starting at 10.30 and ending in the Recreation Ground. In the centre ring, there will be a display of skill by some of the classic car owners plus organised races; three legged; sack; and egg and spoon. There will be a four bed trampoline and bungee jump, eight inflatable bouncy castles, swing boats and a land train. Come and join the fun and win a prize! There will be a large seated picnic area with loads of food and drink available. There will be craft stalls selling their wares, and Park Radio will be there, entertaining us with requests and talking to everyone. The River Waveney Trust will also have a stall.

Summer Garden Party   Date: 25 August 2018  Location: Bridge Fen, 29 Low Road, Wortwell, Harleston IP20 0HJ Music and bands in a beautiful Waveney Valley setting between 12 noon and 8pm Enjoy music from five fantastic live bands: Indigo, Terence Blacker, Bklue Train, Sneaky Beats, Weird Rare Animal, and Sark Parking, disabled access and toilets. Bar and food. £5 entry, under 16s - £1 Profits donated to Alzheimer's Society and River Waveney Trust

Halcyon members and their parents are invited to join us at Shorelands Wildlife Gardens, for a private tour by Ben and Rowan Potterton. There will be a chance to see the wildlife and to do some art work. For our next "natter and noggin" we are back to our normal time-slot - i.e. last Monday of the month. By the time we next meet, the WRG will have completed their work camp at Geldeston and this will be the ideal time to review progress and plan future actions. Fun for all the family Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum, The street, Flixton, NR35 1NZ Includes the unveiling of a Memorial provided by “The Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust” at 1400 hours. A flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster scheduled, subject to weather. There will be a display by The Vintage & Military Amateur Radio Society Face Painting Stomp Rockets The River Waveney Trust will also have a stall.

You are cordially invited to join the River Waveney Trust in Bungay for a talk by the Director of the Earsham Wetlands Centre (Ben Potterton) on Friday July 20th at 7 pm in the Bungay Community Centre in Upper Olland Street (NR35 1BE).  It will also be an opportunity to meet the new coordinator of the RWT’s Bungay Group, Heather Watson, as well as a number of the trustees and other friends of the Trust.   Attendance is free of charge and is open to anyone interested in the work and aspirations of the River Waveney Trust, and refreshments will be available - do come and ‘show your love’ for our beautiful river.

An exhibition explaining and celebrating the work of the Beccles group of the River Waveney Trust, who are restoring the lock at Geldeston. The museum is open Tuesday - Sunday (and Bank Holiday Monday) from 1.45pm - 4.30pm. Free entry

We supply the barbeque and chef - just bring your own drink and something to sit on. All donations go towards park maintenace.  

  The 4th Great Bungay Duck Race Falcon Meadow Family day with food, beer tent and activities for children This year, as well as all the duck races, great children’s games, charity stalls and bouncy castle we have an exciting new line up including Lydia’s Famous Spotty Donkeys for children’s donkey rides, Fritton Owl Sanctuary’s owls and music from the Tutti Folk Band, Tutti Wind Band and Tutti Saxpack. The River Waveney Trust will also have a stall at this event.
