On the River Litter Pick - Diss - Preventing Plastic Pollution

Come and join the River Waveney Trust River Wardens on the Waveney behind the supermarkets in Diss, this area is a real litter hotspot!

We are taking part in a project - Preventing Plastic Pollution - looking at how plastic finds its way into rivers and eventually out into oceans.

Help us to collect litter in the Waveney, identify litter hotspots and look at ways we can tackle plastic pollution locallly, whilst gathering data that contributes to a better understanding globally. 

We've got plenty of litter pickers, bags, bag hoops and gloves.

You will need a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, a well fitting buoyancy aid and suitable clothing for being on the water in winter.

We would love you to join us, it's a perfect opportunity to get out on the water, exercise and chat with a friendly bunch of people.  There will also be cake at the end!

(Hand sanitiser also provided or supermarket facilities are near by)

We meet at 10am at the back of Tesco car park, near the path that leads down to the riverside. We will be on the water for around hour to hour and half, we will then sort the litter at the Youth and Community Centre on Shelfanger Road.

Please let me know if you're coming by selecting a FREE ticket - I will need to provide supermarket with details of cars parked in their carpark for this event, so please get in touch before hand.

Safety is our priority - if weather conditions are not suitable on the day the event will be rescheduled
