Breydon Water – a celebration of the life and times of the legendary Arthur Patterson

7:30 PM – 9:30 PM Thu, 16 Feb 2017
Fisher Theatre, Broad Street, Bungay. NR35 1EE

A rare and exclusive chance to hear about one of Norfolk's most unusual and expert naturalists. Born in the late 19th century and brought up in Great Yarmouth, Arthur became not only a self-taught naturalist but an excellent writer and recorder. He visited and lived on Breydon Water for most of his life. A little known fact is that he became a mentor to Ted Ellis when Ted was a young man. Arthur published numerous articles and books, the latter now becoming highly collectable.

Tony Brown, RWT trustee and recording naturalist, has been a lifelong fan of Arthur Patterson. He brings together his life, his writings and humorous insights into the man. Tony brings us up to date with his own lifelong fascination with Breydon and its quite amazing populations of migrating birds, eel, smelt and other aspects of this glorious estuary.
